VSHV the thread connecting the two authors

From December 2025 to March 2026, Gazprombank presented the exhibition project Dialogue, which showcased the intersection of artistic worlds separated by time but connected by a keen eye for tradition. The exhibition featured paper collages by contemporary artist Ksenia Grishchenko and works by Sergei Otroshchenko, a prominent representative of Soviet art, a monumentalist and set designer, and the author of murals in one of the pavilions at VDNKh.

Since the 1960s, Otroshchenko has been exploring folk culture, traveling to the Carpathians and the Russian North, and studying architecture, crafts, and, above all, the unique ornaments that once permeated the entire artistic landscape, from carved houses to folk costumes and utilitarian household items. His still lifes from the "Folk Art" series resemble mosaic panels, with their decorative, rhythmic, and subtle interplay of color and form. This decorative element is a common thread between Otroshchenko's work and that of Ksenia Grishchenko.

The main feature of Ksenia's work is its rarity and cropping.
